Mushkil, because we are creatures of habit.
We get habituated to a lot of things, such as:
- Timings,
- Things,
- Comforts, but most of all,
- People.
Sometimes, this habituation is good, especially the habituation of people, because it helps families stay cohesive, and friends stay friends.
But every once in a while, we get habituated to people who make us miserable. When that happens, things really need to change, but it’s extremely difficult.
Steve Jobs gave us a great barometer to determine if we should change.
For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’ And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

This is the question that we must ask ourselves, when we get habituated to someone who makes us miserable.
What’s your answer?
If it’s “no,” then it’s time to start thinking.
